Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Security Problem Management Principal to lead the end-to-end lifecycle of security problems across Security, Engineering, Infrastructure, Product, and Risk. Identify root causes, drive corrective actions, and promote a blameless learning culture while owning risk reduction.

You will partner with incident response, develop metrics for leadership, and ensure remediation addresses systemic weaknesses.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cybersecurity, security operations, incident response, risk management, or a related discipline.
• Ability to translate complex technical findings into clear business risks, decisions, and actions.
• Strong program-management skills with ownership tracking, prioritization, and executive communication.
• Experience working across engineering, operations, product, legal, compliance, and leadership teams.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end security problem management lifecycle from identification through closure and validation.
• Identify recurring incidents, control failures, vulnerabilities, and trends needing deeper investigation.
• Facilitate root-cause analyses and post-incident reviews using structured methods.
• Create and maintain high-quality problem records with impact, root cause, risk, and deadlines.
• Differentiate root causes from symptoms and ensure remediation addresses systemic weaknesses.
• Partner with incident response teams to transition significant incidents into formal investigations.
• Track corrective and preventive actions to completion and escalate blockers.
• Validate remediation effectiveness and ensure it doesn't transfer risk elsewhere.
• Analyze data to identify patterns and systemic risks for leadership reporting.
• Develop metrics for leadership, including recurrence rates and risk reduction.
• Improve problem-management processes, governance, and tooling.
• Promote blameless reviews and learning culture.
