Qualifications

Responsibilities

Senior Security Master & Pricing Specialist

About the Job

Our client, a distinguished financial technology and services organization serving the wealth management and financial services industry, is seeking a Senior Associate, Security Master Specialist to join its Operations team to join its team in Edison NJ. This is an onsite position.

This position is responsible for the accurate creation, maintenance, and review of security master data within the company's portfolio accounting and wealth management systems. The Senior Security Master Specialist will work closely with multiple departments to ensure securities are established accurately, security data remains current, pricing information is properly applied, and transaction issues related to security data are researched and resolved.

Position Responsibilities

Security Master Administration

• Set up new securities within portfolio accounting and wealth management systems.
• Review and maintain existing security master records to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Research and resolve transaction issues related to security master data.
• Review custodian data to identify securities requiring new setup or updates.
• Respond to internal tickets and requests for new security setups and changes.
• Research security attributes and validate information before establishing or modifying securities.
• Partner with operations and other internal teams to resolve security-related issues.
• Maintain accurate security data in accordance with established operational procedures and controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve and enhance existing security master procedures.

Pricing and Data Review

• Analyze daily price exception reports to ensure vendor pricing is applied accurately.
• Research and validate pricing outliers and discrepancies.
• Review daily performance feeds for pricing and security-related issues.
• Research discrepancies involving security characteristics, pricing, classifications, or other reference data.
• Coordinate with pricing vendors, custodians, and internal teams as necessary to resolve data issues.
• Ensure security and pricing issues are addressed within established processing deadlines.

Skills & Knowledge

• BA/BS required; degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field preferred.
• Five or more years of financial services experience.
• Strong understanding of investment securities and security master/reference data.
• Extensive knowledge of fixed income securities required; experience with mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and asset-backed securities (ABS) is highly desirable.
• Experience working with portfolio accounting or investment management systems.
• Experience with Bloomberg, ICE 360View, custodians, and market data providers preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Ability to research and resolve complex security and pricing discrepancies.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has a strong financial services operations background with hands‑on experience maintaining security master data, researching securities, resolving data discrepancies, and reviewing investment pricing. The individual should be comfortable working with a broad range of security types and have particularly strong knowledge of fixed income products. Experience with Bloomberg, custodians, portfolio accounting systems, and market data platforms will be especially valuable.
