Stockell Consulting is seeking an Operations Specialist — Securities Reference Data on a contract basis for remote work in the United States. The role centers on data validation, reconciliation, and ensuring reference data accuracy across trading and back-office processes.
You’ll set up security master records, validate data against sources, and resolve discrepancies quickly. Strong Excel skills and knowledge of securities are essential for success.
Location: Remote (United States)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM CST
Type: Contract — up to $35/hr
Duration: Immediate start through December 2027
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Our client, a national financial services firm, is hiring an Operations Specialist to maintain the security reference data the rest of the business runs on. When a new bond comes to market, this team sets it up — and everything downstream, from trading to trade confirmation generation, depends on that record being right the first time. You’ll join a small operations team responsible for making sure securities are set up correctly and the data behind them stays accurate and available to every business area that uses it.
This is a validation and reconciliation role. The day is built around checking data against its sources, catching what doesn’t match, and resolving it before it reaches a function that depends on it. It is fully remote, but it runs on a fixed schedule — 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM Central, with the team communicating continuously through the day to keep coverage on every function. If you’d rather work heads-down with minimal contact, this isn’t the right seat; proactive communication is part of the work here, not a soft skill on the side.
Financial services background matters on this one. The role assumes you already know what a bond, a mutual fund, and a CUSIP are — brokerage, banking, custody, fund administration, or asset management experience is what the team is looking for.
This is a long‑term contract running through December 2027, fully remote for candidates who can hold Central-time hours.
One video interview with the hiring manager and a team member; a second round only if a decision can’t be reached.
