Job summary

SpaceX seeks a Sr. Manager, Security to lead site protection for assets across spaces where the company operates. You will coordinate contract guards, internal security, access control systems, and CCTV, while directing responses to incidents and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates will have a strong security management background, ITAR experience, and the ability to oversee large teams, align security with business goals, and communicate effectively with executives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 12+ years of experience in the field of security.
• 5+ years of security management experience supervising and directing staff across a wide range of operating functions.
• Experience with ITAR.

Responsibilities

• Develop and communicate the overall strategy for site security, aligning it with SpaceX’s business objectives.
• Become the trusted security advisor to senior management and leaders across the organization through high-level communication and excellent briefing skills.
• Establish procedures and protocols to assess, identify, and mitigate any security vulnerabilities or gaps.
• Maintain a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures; ensure that all team members understand and comply with those laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Identify, prioritize, develop, and implement security measures, emergency preparedness and response plans, and security protocols and strategies.
• Participate in local, state, and federal working or advisory groups to stay updated on security-related information.
• Maintain security equipment such as cameras, alarms, and access control systems.
• Assess systems, alarms, and other physical security measures for effectiveness.
• Make effective decisions in both routine and crisis situations.
• Take personal initiative in developing efficient work processes.
• Address and resolve security issues promptly, effectively, and independently.
