Job summary

NATO seeks a security professional to protect the HQ in Brussels and possibly other locations. You will manage the Site Security Centre or a mobile team, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with procedures and training requirements.

Role requires four+ years in security, ability to pass weapons tests, and willingness to work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• At least four years’ experience as a member of a security or police force (military or civilian).
• Experience with non‑lethal weapons and firearms and ability to pass shooting tests.
• Good physical condition for interventions and ability to pass tests.
• Capability to undertake training such as EOR, tactical armed intervention, traffic control, and emergency communications.
• Good interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Minimum NATO languages: Advanced in one and Beginner in the other.
• Ability to work shift systems including nights, weekends, holidays, and possible overtime.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Site Security Centre (SSC) or lead a mobile intervention team and/or manage access control and screening of deliveries and vehicles entering the NATO HQ.
• Assist the Inspector in organising and supervising a team of security agents; carry out emergency counter‑measures.
• Assist in managing team performance, induction and staff morale; integrate new members.
• Ensure operating instructions are communicated and followed by security agents.
• Draft concise security reports or recommendations with relevant information.
• Complete training programmes including physical training, weapon handling, medical training, and tactical intervention; ensure preparedness.
• Deal tactfully with staff and visitors to ensure security procedures are followed; respond to all calls at the SSC.
• Assist in workforce planning and analyse work methods.
• Perform any other related duty as assigned.
