Job summary

Koniag Emerging Technologies, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, seeks a Senior Security Specialist to support HQ Security Operations for a Federal agency. This senior role coordinates physical, personnel, and information security programs and serves as the primary contractor point of contact for day-to-day security operations in Germantown, MD.

The role requires extensive knowledge of security directives (NISPOM, HQ Master Security Plan), experience with PIV, and leadership of junior

Qualifications

• Requires at least an associates degree or 10+ years federal personnel security experience.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is expected.
• Experience with DOE CATS, USACCESS sponsorship, and SSIMS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as ALT HSO Support Senior Lead Manager and HSO Representative for the Contractor Security Program.
• Act as primary POC for processing PIV (HSPD-12) and security paperwork for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate security requests through CATS Portal, eCAR, and related systems; ensure timeliness of actions.
• Maintain contractor security records, training documentation, and clearance actions (upgrades/downgrades).
• Assist CORs and FSOs with facility clearance processes and related documentation.
