Job summary

HKS Inc is seeking a Sr. Security Engineer to manage security operations, threat monitoring, and incident response. You will lead vulnerability remediation efforts and develop a comprehensive security reporting framework for executives.

You will mentor junior engineers, oversee security documentation, and collaborate across IT teams to improve the organization’s security posture in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Advanced Information Security Certification (CISSP, CISM, CASP+, CySA+, CCSP) required.
• Typically 6+ years of experience in cyber security incident response & remediation activities.
• Advanced experience with OSI model layers and Microsoft 365/Azure environments.
• Experience with SIEM and logging platforms; familiarity with Okta and cloud security tools.
• Knowledge of Cisco switches/routers and Palo Alto Prisma/SASE environments.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Engineer security operation standards and controls: monitoring, threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management.
• Develop and lead a comprehensive vulnerability management program and threat intel activities.
• Lead remediation efforts and improve overall security posture; mentor junior team members in incident handling.
• Lead incident response investigations, perform root cause analyses, and produce incident reports.
• Develop and maintain security documentation: policies, standards, procedures, guidelines.
• Create an executive security reporting framework with dashboards and KPIs for leadership.
• Oversee security awareness program and phishing campaign execution; train IT staff.
• Provide guidance on security architecture and participate in security reviews of IT projects.
• Ensure timely and accurate security reporting aligned with regulatory requirements.
