Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking an experienced security engineer to design and implement secure IT infrastructure, monitor threats, and lead incident response efforts. The role demands deep cybersecurity expertise and active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, integrated within a hybrid office environment.

Responsibilities include risk assessments, developing security controls, and mentoring junior engineers, with travel as needed and a strong focus on DoD and national security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a security or engineering discipline with 8+ years in IT security or related field
• Experience can substitute for education, or 12 years of related experience if no degree
• Expert understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices
• Experience with security frameworks and standards such as NIST and ISO 27001
• Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility required

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of secure IT infrastructure
• Perform advanced security monitoring and threat analysis
• Direct and manage complex incident response and digital forensics
• Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments
• Develop and enforce security controls and protocols
• Research and recommend new security technologies
• Oversee security breach documentation and impact analysis
• Provide mentorship to junior security engineers
