Job summary

GuidePoint Security is seeking a Senior Security Engineer for the Data Pipeline & Observability practice in the Mid-Atlantic region. This remote role focuses on designing, building, and optimizing secure telemetry pipelines across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.

You will work with Cribl Stream and leading SIEM/analytics destinations, translating technical findings into business outcomes and communicating with CISO/CIO-level stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cybersecurity, IT operations, or data engineering, including 3+ years building and running production telemetry pipelines.
• Hands-on production experience with Cribl Stream or a comparable pipeline platform.
• Working knowledge of at least one SIEM or analytics destination (Splunk, Elastic, Microsoft Sentinel, Google SecOps, CrowdStrike, or SentinelOne).
• Client-facing delivery experience as a consultant or services team member delivering to multiple business units.
• Linux administration and networking fundamentals with cloud logging experience (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Ability to translate technical work into business terms for senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and optimize telemetry pipelines with Cribl and comparable platforms.
• Onboard, parse, and normalize data from diverse sources into common schemas.
• Build data reduction, enrichment, and tiering strategies to optimize costs and analytics fidelity.
• Quantify business value and present results to technical and financial stakeholders.
• Lead data workstreams of SIEM migrations and health checks; deliver actionable roadmaps.
• Collaborate with vendor engineering teams and pre-sales to scope and deliver engagements.
