Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a hands-on Lead Security Engineer to set the technical direction for securing its global infrastructure at scale. You will lead security across application, cloud, and on‑prem estates, designing controls and repeatable processes while guiding engineers—without line management responsibility.

You will shape patching, image refreshes, and guardrails across clouds and on‑prem, partnering with security, platform engineering, and application teams to raise overall security

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering or cloud security
• Deep understanding of security principles across app, cloud, and infrastructure
• Experience with vulnerability management frameworks and remediation workflows
• Experience across multiple clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-prem
• Ability to design and improve security processes and automate controls
• Strong communication across security, engineering, and business teams

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead for security across application, cloud, and infrastructure
• Design and build security controls across OS, containers, CI/CD, cloud config, and network boundaries
• Redesign patching cycles and image refresh processes to balance speed and safety
• Develop and promote security standards and escalation paths
• Coordinate with security, platform engineering, and application teams to raise security posture
