Job summary

Thomson Reuters is building a dedicated security engineering capability. The Security Engineer will secure a global estate across applications, cloud, and infrastructure, applying patches, hardening configurations, and implementing controls with AI‑assisted tooling.

You will collaborate with senior engineers to run patches, validate fixes, and coordinate tests while growing expertise in cloud and on‑prem security across regions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in security engineering, software development, systems administration, or DevSecOps.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI and on‑premises infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Execute security work across full stack: patches, upgrades, hardening, guardrails, and network changes.
• Work with AI‑augmented SAST/SCA tooling; confirm fixes and coordinate regression testing.
• Support patch cycles and golden-image refreshes; remove unused software.
• Follow runbooks, standards, and risk prioritization (in line with CISA guidance) from senior engineer and tech lead.
• Track status from assignment to verified fix; flag blockers early.
• Coordinate with application/platform teams and regions.
• Grow skills across application, infrastructure, and cloud security with senior support.
