Job summary

Project Eleven is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to own product and platform security across our institutional offerings. You will shape threat models, harden services and supply chain, and partner with engineering to maximize security.

This fully remote role is Europe-based (GMT to GMT+2) with broad scope and high ownership, including incident response, compliance work, and customer-facing security conversations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in security engineering with ownership of a production security program
• Experience securing systems at scale with regulatory requirements
• Strong applied cryptography knowledge: key management, signing protocols
• Experience leading SOC 2, ISO 27001 or equivalent
• Hands-on AWS security and modern deployment platforms; able to read/write infra code
• Track record of partnering with engineering teams to ship security improvements as code
• Strong threat modeling instincts and pragmatic risk tradeoffs
• Strong English communication for institutional customers and auditors

Responsibilities

• Own institutional product security end-to-end: threat models, secure design reviews, incident response
• Collaborate with engineering on secure design across backend systems and cryptographic protocols
• Build and mature application security program: secure SDLC, code review standards, supply chain hardening
• Establish vulnerability management cadence, penetration testing, and bug bounty as needed
• Develop incident response capability: runbooks, on-call rotation, postmortem culture
• Contribute to SOC 2 Type II and other controls and evidence collection
• Represent security in customer conversations, DDQs, and security reviews with institutional buyers
