Job summary

PostHog is seeking an expert security generalist (EU/UK focus) to build and lead security operations for a natively remote, open-source product analytics company. You will own detection pipelines, incident response, and threat modeling across AWS environments and developer tooling.

You’ll shape security culture, enable engineers with practical controls, and drive a proactive security posture while collaborating with global teams.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of security engineering with AWS focus.
• Experience building detection pipelines engineers trust.
• Led incident response and post-mortems.
• Ability to build a security function from scratch with high autonomy.
• Strong engineering capability to review code and vulnerabilities.
• Excellent communication to enable engineers, not hinder them.

Responsibilities

• Triage and tune Wiz alerts into actionable findings.
• Lead security incident detection and response, coordinate post-mortems.
• Build observability and telemetry to trace network activity to code paths.
• Proactively hunt threats in cloud environments (AWS).
• Support vulnerability disclosure program and bug bounty readiness.
• Advise product squads with threat modeling and secure design reviews.
