Job summary

Censys is seeking a senior security engineer to own the identity program, enhance cloud security posture (GCP-first), and lead vulnerability management end-to-end. You’ll act as a core incident responder and develop agentic security workflows while coordinating with SRE and engineering teams.

You’ll drive security automation, build detection for identity and cloud threats, and guide risk-based remediation while maintaining clear, async communication across a lean team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in security engineering with depth in at least two areas (IAM, cloud security, vulnerability management, detection & response).
• Hands-on identity operations: SSO/SAML/OIDC, MFA, conditional access, device trust, lifecycle automation.

Responsibilities

• Own identity program and reduce standing access over time.
• Harden and improve cloud-native environment with IAM least privilege and posture monitoring.
• Lead vulnerability management with risk-based prioritization and remediation collaboration.
• Build detection coverage for identity, cloud, and SaaS; lead high-severity incidents.
• Design agentic security workflows and security automation within Slack-based operations.
