Job summary

C1 is a San Francisco–based AI-native identity security platform hiring a Senior Security Engineer to join a small, early-stage security team with a broad remit spanning security engineering, application and cloud security, and compliance. The role is generalist, hands-on, and centers on Go and AWS.

You'll build purpose-built agents and automation to weave security into the development lifecycle, shift security left, and enable secure-by-default practices across the org.

Qualifications

• Proven experience securing enterprise SaaS applications, incl. auth flows and API boundaries.
• Experience securing deployment/change-management for software and infrastructure.
• Background in Software/Platform/Systems/Cloud security or related.
• Hands-on code review experience in Go, Python, or Rust.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive security standards for application and/or cloud security.
• Build agents and skills to automate security in the development lifecycle.
• Shift security left by integrating risk-based reviews into design specs.
• Build tooling to scale security across engineering and improve observability and detection.
• Lead threat modeling and risk assessment for high-risk features and platform changes.
• Assess risks from AI-powered features running in production and mitigate accordingly.
• Partner with engineering to define API security standards and conduct security code reviews.
• Explore open-source tools to audit services and reduce manual reviews.
• Identify systemic risks and lead multi-team remediation end-to-end.
• Collaborate across security, compliance, and engineering on cross-domain problems.
• Contribute to SOC 2, ISO 27001/42001 initiatives as they intersect with security focus.
• Invest in teammates and raise security bar across the org.
