Job summary

Placements24 client is a rapidly growing cybersecurity firm seeking a Senior Security Engineer in Randburg, Gauteng. You will design, implement, and manage security controls across cloud and on‑prem environments, lead incident response, and drive secure DevSecOps practices.

You will collaborate with IT and development teams to reduce risk, perform regular assessments, and help implement standards like NIST and ISO 27001.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity engineering or related security role.
• Hands-on experience with cloud security on AWS/Azure/GCP, SIEM and EDR.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure and controls.
• Conduct regular security assessments, pen tests, and scans.
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Monitor alerts and respond to incidents effectively.
• Implement cloud security controls across cloud platforms.
• Automate security processes and integrate DevSecOps practices.
• Stay updated on threats and technologies.
• Collaborate with IT/development to secure SDLC.
• Provide security awareness training to staff.
