Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Cybersecurity Architect for an on‑site role in Randburg. You will design, implement, and manage robust security architectures across on‑prem, cloud, and hybrid environments, leading security reviews and mentoring teams.

The ideal candidate has deep threat modeling, risk assessment, and cloud security expertise, with strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of cybersecurity experience with security architecture focus.
• Experience designing/implementing security solutions across Windows, Linux, cloud.
• Knowledge of networking, cryptography, authentication, authorization, security frameworks.
• Cloud security architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices security.
• Familiar with WAFs, IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management tools.
• CISSP, CCSP, or SABSA certifications valued.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, scalable cybersecurity architectures for on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Develop and maintain security blueprints, standards, and guidelines.
• Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments for systems and applications.
• Evaluate and recommend new security technologies to enhance posture.
• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to embed security in SDLC.
• Provide expert guidance on security best practices and architectural decisions.
• Lead security reviews and provide technical leadership to teams.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Stay abreast of emerging threats and contribute to incident response planning.
