Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Lead Security Engineer to work with AI, Enterprise Architecture, and Business Development teams. You will guide cybersecurity controls for federal information systems, support security operations, and drive cloud security initiatives and system authorizations.

Responsibilities include leading security projects, implementing solutions, and coordinating with administrators and engineers to address risks. A background with NIST controls and CI/CD security is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years in security engineering and 7+ years overall.
• Experience with US Federal government security requirements and regulatory controls.
• Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 and 800-171 guidance.
• Proven ability securing CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
• Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on Information Security solutions across teams.
• Implement, configure, and maintain security tools and controls.
• Coordinate enterprise projects and align resources with risk and objectives.
• Assess risks, lead vulnerability management, and remediation efforts.
• Advise on security controls for cloud, network, and endpoints; support Zero Trust initiatives.
