Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Lead Security Engineer to work across AI, Enterprise Architecture, and Business Development teams. You will guide cybersecurity controls protecting federal information systems, support security operations, compliance, vulnerability management, and cloud security initiatives.

You will lead and mentor others, implement security solutions, and coordinate with ISO leadership on security and compliance considerations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with 7+ years of security engineering.
5+ years of Security Engineering experience.
Experience with US Federal government security engineering.
NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-171 knowledge.
Strong CI/CD security fundamentals.
Understanding of networking and endpoint security.
Experience with vulnerability management and remediation.
Cloud security in AWS and/or Azure.
Willingness to travel up to 10%.
U.S. Citizenship required; federal certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide guidance on Information Security solutions across teams.
Lead or contribute to information security projects and mentor staff.
Implement and maintain Information Security solutions with best practices.
Coordinate enterprise project-level work and align resources.
Prioritize program elements based on risk and objectives.
Advise on security controls across cloud, network, and endpoints environments.
Perform security assessments, vulnerability analysis and remediation tracking.
Advise on SIEM, EDR, firewalls, and scanning tools.
Collaborate with admins, network engineers, and CI/CD engineers on security risks.
Develop and maintain security documentation and system security plans.
