Job summary

Queue inc. is seeking a Security Engineer to own the security of the pharmacy robot and all connected systems, from hardware to cloud updates. You will define trusted boundaries, supervise design reviews, and manage device identity and secret custody.

You will run independent tests, triage findings, and coordinate across squads to ensure evidence-backed customer statements. Hybrid work in Bay Area preferred, with a focus on HIPAA-regulated contexts.

Qualifications

• Ownership of security for a shipped product end-to-end, with a demonstrable fix-and-verify track record.
• Proficient in reading and writing code in Rust, TypeScript, or Python; provide patches or guidance.
• Strong systems, network depth: TLS, identity, secrets management, and boundary reasoning.
• Experience with offensive testing and defensive judgment to prioritize fixes.
• Threat modeling used by engineers; prefer removing inputs over adding controls.
• Exact writing that matches evidence strength for engineers, executives, and assessors.

Responsibilities

• Own the security threat model across machine, OS, cloud, and update paths.
• Lead security reviews of designs and document outcomes with the owning squads.
• Manage device identity and key custody including rotation and verification.
• Run end-to-end independent security testing, triage, remediation, and retests.
• Identify, triage, and fix weaknesses in code, dependencies, images, and cloud configurations.
