Job summary

Mapbox is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Security & Compliance team. You will help Mapbox build secure-by-default systems and contribute to threat detection across our cloud deployment in multiple regions.

You'll review AWS security, implement improvements with production teams, and collaborate with product teams to design secure-by-default features, while supporting an on-call rotation to keep systems available 24/7. Hybrid/Remote options available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field.
• 5+ years of experience in product or application security and related software engineering roles.
• Experience with AWS services like GuardDuty, CloudTrail, IAM, Security Groups, CloudFront, CloudFormation, S3, ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB and RDS.
• Proficiency in a programming language (Python/JavaScript/Node.js/TypeScript).
• Security best practices and ability to perform risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct AWS security reviews and validate security best practices.
• Make security improvements recommendations and work with production support teams to implement in AWS.
• Partner with Lead Security Architect to fix security tools.
• Conduct in-depth security reviews of application code with developers.
• Collaborate with internal product teams to implement secure-by-default designs.
• Participate in on-call rotation to ensure systems are available 24/7.
