Job summary

Redwood Trust, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Security Engineer to lead cybersecurity design, implementation, and maintenance across identity, endpoint, network, cloud, email, and data protection.

You will secure Azure-based and on-prem environments, including AI workloads, while collaborating with infrastructure, application, and data teams. The role emphasizes threat identification, incident response, vulnerability management, and governance alignment with NIST/CIS, SOX ITGC, GLBA, NYDFS, and SEC cyber

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Six or more years in cybersecurity roles spanning security engineering, security operations, or application security.
• Hands-on experience operating a SIEM, building detections, and handling real incidents through to resolution.
• Experience with core cybersecurity tooling including SIEM, endpoint protection, IAM, encryption, email security, and IDS/IPS.
• Strong cloud security foundations on Azure and native tooling, plus IAM and network controls.
• Experience securing AI/ML systems including adversarial concepts and risk considerations.
• Proficiency with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python) and CI/CD/infrastructure as code basics.
• Familiarity with NIST/CIS, AI security guidance, and risk-based security mappings.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across identity, endpoint, network, cloud, email, and data protection.
• Operate and tune the SIEM, build detections, and drive alerts to resolution.
• Participate in incident response, coordinating investigation, containment, remediation, and post-incident review.
• Conduct vulnerability scanning and drive remediation with multiple teams.
• Embed security into delivery through CI/CD, IaC guardrails, secrets management, and secure baselines.
• Secure AI/ML workloads and monitor for adversarial threats like prompt injection and data poisoning.
• Perform third-party security assessments and vendor risk evaluations before adoption.
• Develop metrics, dashboards, and reporting for security technologies and KPIs.
