ngrok Inc. is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to define how security works in our high-scale environment. You will build automated guardrails, opinionated defaults, and self-service tooling that scales with the team, emphasizing AI/ML security risks and secure CI/CD integration.

You will work with Go/Java/Rust/C/C++ and AWS-based infrastructure, contribute to threat modeling, and help shape a proactive security culture while partnering with engineering, infra, and leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping tooling and automation in a security engineering role.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and ability to write Go, Java, Rust, C, or C++.
• Hands-on experience with cloud security, particularly AWS.

Responsibilities

• Audit current security tooling, CI/CD coverage, cloud posture, and detection capabilities; translate into a prioritized security roadmap.
• Ship developer-facing security tooling and secure-by-default libraries.
• Run structured risk assessments across product and infra to document gaps and changes.
• Establish AI usage guardrails and tooling for secure fast iteration.
• Stand up baseline detection, logging, alerting, and incident response processes.
• Own the security engineering program end-to-end with measurable controls and reusable tooling.
