Job summary

House Rx is seeking a Senior Security Software Engineer to build, review, and harden security-sensitive software and infrastructure across cloud, on‑prem, and internal tooling.

In this role you will perform secure code reviews, design and enforce security gates for CI/CD, and guide teams on HITRUST readiness while balancing security with rapid development. Remote-friendly culture with competitive compensation and equity.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience in production security
• Strong programming skills in Python or a systems language
• Experience with cloud security controls and secure SDLC practices
• Familiarity with AWS and/or GCP
• Track record of reviewing PRs and giving actionable security feedback
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, logging, secrets management and data protection

Responsibilities

• Build and harden internal security-sensitive tooling
• Review security-sensitive pull requests touching PHI
• Design and enforce security gates and guardrails across the SDLC
• Support application security reviews across platforms
• Review security-related Terraform, cloud, firewall, VPN, and clinic connectivity changes
• Improve visibility into security posture across AWS, GCP, and internal apps
• Help prepare engineering teams for HITRUST and customer security expectations
