Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Staff Cybersecurity Software Engineer to advance security across a manufacturing-grade software ecosystem. Remote role (US-based), collaborating with product, operations, and business teams to embed security in design and delivery.

You will build scalable security services, integrate controls into CI/CD and cloud workflows, guide architecture, and conduct secure code reviews to reduce risk while enabling long-term growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer in production systems or in-house applications
• Advanced proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, or C+)
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
• Experience operating services on a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong understanding of core security concepts relevant to software engineering

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain security-focused software components and tools for company's application ecosystem
• Develop automation frameworks for product teams to implement secure patterns
• Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native workflows
• Architect and implement scalable security services and APIs
• Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security requirements into designs
• Conduct secure code reviews and design reviews to identify vulnerabilities
• Establish systems for security telemetry, logging, and alerting
