Job summary

Dropzone AI is hiring a Security Engineer for a 100% remote role in the United States. You will own investigation quality, write investigation flows, and guide long-term product strategy while mentoring engineers. The role emphasizes Python development, security tooling, and proactive threat hunting.

You’ll collaborate with GTM and customer success to prioritize impactful features, participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation, and contribute to a growing, equity-backed startup with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software development or security engineering.
• Strong experience writing production Python code.
• Experience writing detections or working on a SOAR team / threat hunting.
• Understanding of modern security practices and investigation techniques.
• Startup mindset with ability to handle ambiguity and ship features.

Responsibilities

• Write investigation flows and integrations with security tools; fix bugs.
• Evolve investigation logic to handle new alert classes with accuracy and performance.
• Contribute to Python codebase and influence architecture and product strategy.
• Review AI investigations to identify strengths and weaknesses and drive improvements.
• Partner with GTM and customer success to guide technical direction and features.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
