Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Security Engineer III to advance our monitoring, detection, and incident response capabilities across a large-scale distributed platform. You will design and enhance observability, improve detection quality, and strengthen our ability to investigate security incidents in complex environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, InfoSec, or related field (or equivalent).
• 4–6 years in security operations, monitoring, detection, or incident response.
• Experience with SIEM/dashboarding tools such as AWS GuardDuty, Sumo Logic, Grafana, CrowdStrike, DataDog, Splunk, Thycotic.
• Knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP) and native security services.
• Strong understanding of log handling, telemetry pipelines, and alert tuning.
• Proficiency in programming or scripting (Python/Java/Shell).
• Experience with CI/CD and vulnerability scanning with a security-first mindset.
• Familiarity with large-scale distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
• Working knowledge of container orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenStack).
• Relevant certifications (Security+, GSEC, CISSP) preferred; FedRAMP experience a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with architects and engineers to define system boundaries, assets, controls, and monitoring requirements across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Design and enhance observability solutions using AI-powered monitoring, telemetry, logging, tracing, and metrics.
• Integrate logging/monitoring with SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, APM, and cloud-native security tools.
• Use AI-driven insights to identify threats, performance issues, and operational risks.
• Develop and tune alerts, correlation rules, and detection logic to minimize false positives.
• Collaborate with SOC, IR, Threat Detection, and Vulnerability teams on escalation and response workflows.
• Support Incident Response lifecycle with telemetry, threat intel, root-cause analysis, and forensic insights.
