Job summary

F5 Distributed Cloud is seeking a Security Engineer III to advance monitoring, detection, and incident response across the F5 SDC platform. You will design and enhance monitoring and audit solutions, and strengthen response to security incidents in a large-scale distributed environment.

You will partner with Architects, Platform Engineering, Security, SRE, and Compliance to define assets, security controls, and monitoring requirements across cloud-native and hybrid environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in CS/InfoSec.
• 4–6 years in security operations, monitoring, or incident response.
• Hands-on with logging/monitoring/SIEM tools.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Knowledge of CICD and vulnerability scanning.
• Familiarity with FedRAMP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and enhance observability solutions with AI-powered monitoring and metrics.
• Coordinate with Architects, Platform Engineering, Security, SRE, and Compliance to define assets and monitoring requirements across cloud-native and hybrid environments.
• Integrate logging, monitoring, and security telemetry with SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, and other security tools.
• Lead SOC, IR, threat detection, vulnerability management, and escalation workflows.
• Remediate vulnerabilities with timely patching and security hardening across environments.
• Maintain SIEM deployment and upgrades as needed.
• Apply IaC, Policy as Code, and Security as Code for automation and compliance.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations and weekend support.
