Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring a Senior Security Engineer to join our Information Security Team. You will assess and mitigate security risks, provide guidance to engineering and IT, and help deploy controls for cloud and on-premises environments.

The role emphasizes staying ahead of adversaries, conducting assessments, and implementing security programs in accordance with NIST, FedRAMP, and CMMC frameworks. This is a full-time position in the United States.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant security engineering experience.
• Experience with network security analysis or intrusion management.
• Experience identifying malware and vulnerabilities.
• Ability to identify software and application compromises.
• Experience deploying and securing infrastructure-as-a-service.
• Experience in FedRAMP and/or CMMC environments.

Responsibilities

• Research adversarial techniques and emerging vulnerabilities.
• Conduct security assessments of networks, apps, and systems.
• Design and deploy security controls.
• Perform compliance investigations.
• Document security guidelines with emphasis on NIST 800-53 and 800-171.
• Provide security guidance to Akamai business units.
• Leverage AI capabilities to improve processes and automation.
• Develop scripts and tools to support security functions.
