Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to assess and mitigate security risks across applications, systems and platforms.

You will work with IT and engineering to provide security design guidance and implement controls at scale. You will research adversarial techniques, conduct security assessments, and help deploy risk-mitigating measures while aligning with NIST 800-53 and 800-171, and you will leverage emerging AI to improve processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant security experience required.
• Experience with network security analysis or intrusion management preferred.
• Experience identifying malware and vulnerabilities and mitigations.
• Experience identifying software and application compromises and vulnerabilities.
• Experience with secure deployment and usage of infrastructure-as-a-service.

Responsibilities

• Research adversarial techniques, vulnerabilities, and detection/response strategies.
• Conduct network, application and system security assessments to identify risks and mitigations.
• Assist with design and deployment of security controls.
• Perform compliance and policy investigations of internal systems.
• Document security guidelines and policies (NIST 800-53 / 800-171).
• Provide security guidance to Akamai business units.
• Leverage AI capabilities to enhance processes and automation.
• Develop scripts/tools to support security functions.
