Karbon, a global leader in AI-powered practice management software for accounting firms, seeks a development & cloud focused Senior Security Engineer to join our expanding security team.

The ideal candidate will champion AppSec, cloud security and AI-enabled tooling, communicating effectively with product and engineering teams. You will embed security from design to delivery, and help evolve our security program across multiple domains.

Qualifications

• Experience securing web apps, APIs and cloud-native services.
• Ability to translate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven track record in threat modelling and risk assessment.
• Familiarity with AI tooling and AI-driven development practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Embed security from feature design through delivery and reviews.
• Balance security with delivery timelines and communicate risks clearly.
• Keep up with AI-enabled security developments and apply them where appropriate.
• Identify and assess security risks introduced by AI tools and integrations.
• Apply AI-assisted tooling to accelerate security work including triage and code review.
• Collaborate across security domains and mentor teammates.
• Own your work and contribute to the security roadmap.
