Job summary

VERSANT is seeking a Staff Security Architect to lead complex security architecture engagements across cloud, infrastructure, and applications. You will partner with engineering, data, and product teams to implement secure-by-design solutions, drive threat modeling, and establish security standards that align with enterprise goals and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of progressive experience across cybersecurity disciplines.
• 3+ years designing enterprise security architectures for complex environments.
• Experience with public cloud platforms and modern app architectures.
• Knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and related controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead security architecture engagements for complex enterprise initiatives.
• Serve as trusted advisor to engineering, cloud, data, and product teams.
• Develop security strategies, reference architectures, and design patterns.
• Lead threat modeling, architectural risk assessments, and security design reviews.
• Evaluate emerging technologies for security risk and architectural fit.
• Improve security architecture review processes and metrics.
• Align cybersecurity requirements with enterprise roadmaps and governance.
• Define pragmatic security controls balancing business needs and risk.
• Mentor other security architects and provide technical reviews.
• Create reusable security patterns and implementation guidance.
• Stay updated on evolving threat landscapes and translate into actions.
• Present recommendations to technical leadership and executives.
