Job summary

Verizon Communications is seeking a Principal Engineer - Security Architecture to drive secure by design across product development. You will partner with product teams to perform security reviews, threat modeling, code and logic analysis, and lead security initiatives in the Developer Security and Enablement group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant security experience across Web, API, containers, mobile, cloud, IoT and AI.
• Experience in secure product development and SDLC.
• Development experience in Swift, Java, Scala, Python, or C/C++.
• Experience with security requirements analyses for large Web, IoT, mobile and AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead security architecture reviews and threat modeling across Verizon products.
• Collaborate with product and development teams to embed security throughout development.
• Develop AI agents and automation tooling to streamline security tasks.
• Provide escalation support when automated solutions fall short.
• Drive adoption of security as a shared responsibility with product teams.
