Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems, F-35 Sustainment, has an opening for a Principal or Sr. Principal Field Engineer to join our team at Naval Air Station Lemoore, CA.

The selected candidate will act as the F-35 Air Vehicle Field Support Engineer on-site, resolving maintenance and operations issues for the customer. The role demands the ability to troubleshoot complex systems, provide technical leadership, and travel up to 50% for deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM and minimum 5 years related military aircraft maintenance; A Master's Degree with 3 years of related military aircraft maintenance, OR a PhD.
• Willingness to accompany customer on CONUS and OCONUS deployment up to 50% travel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site Northrop Grumman technical interface to the customer for F-35 maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and fault data to diagnose aircraft subsystem issues.
• Provide engineering guidance to military and civilian maintainers and depot technicians.
• Document maintenance actions and analyze data to identify failure trends and improve maintenance procedures.
• Coordinate with customers and program management on status and actions.
