Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Field Engineer to join the F-35 Air Vehicle Field Support team at Naval Air Station Lemoore, CA. The role involves acting as the technical interface with the customer, providing engineering and maintenance guidance, and leading on-site support for F-35 systems.

The position requires experience with F-35 aircraft, the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, and readiness for deployment up to 50% travel. A security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM and minimum of 5 years related military aircraft maintenance; a Master's with 3 years or a PhD.
• Willing to accompany customer on CONUS and OCONUS deployments up to 50% travel.
• Active Government Secret clearance and ability to obtain SAP clearance.
• F-35 or F-22 aircraft experience including cockpit operations.
• Fighter aircraft troubleshooting, maintenance, and operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Be a self-starter, work without direct supervision.
• Integrate into a high tempo military operational environment.
• Provide engineering and aircraft maintenance guidance to military and depot technicians.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and fault isolation data.
• Operate and maintain test equipment for advanced troubleshooting.
• Document maintenance activities and identify failure trends.
