Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced SecDevOps Engineer (Level 4) to join the COMSEC team within Core Systems and Components. The role integrates security into development and operations, building secure, reliable systems for spaceflight missions.

You will collaborate with Cybersecurity, Software Developers, and Site Reliability Engineers to embed security across the SDLC and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
• 8+ years in DevOps, SecDevOps, or related engineering discipline.
• Experience integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and development workflows.
• Hands-on with security tools (SAST, DAST, scanners, SIEM).
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of networking, encryption and secure communications.
• Familiarity with NIST SP 800-00-series, RMF, or CMMC.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure DevOps pipelines and infrastructure.
• Integrate automated security testing and compliance checks into CI/CD.
• Support COMSEC operations ensuring secure communications meet standards.
• Identify and remediate vulnerabilities across dev and prod environments.
• Enforce security policies across engineering teams.
• Monitor for security threats and respond with Cybersecurity teams.
• Collaborate with SREs to build security-hardened infra.
• Ensure compliance with government and industry security frameworks.
