Job summary

MaxCyte, Inc. seeks a seasoned SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting leader in Rockville, MD. You will own the external reporting process, oversee SOX compliance, and partner with Finance and business teams to translate complex transactions into clear disclosures.

You will manage 10-K/10-Q/8-K filings, MD&A, and supporting schedules, drive policy updates, and contribute to process improvements with modern tools and AI while coordinating with auditors and legal counsel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; active CPA required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or public-company financial reporting.
• Hands-on experience preparing SEC Forms 10-K and 10-Q, including financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, technical accounting, and SOX compliance.
• Ability to independently research complex accounting matters and translate into practical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead external reporting process with Form 10-K/10-Q/8-K filings.
• Prepare financial statements, footnotes, MD&A and disclosures.
• Monitor SEC requirements and regulatory changes.
• Oversee timing, coordination with auditors and EDGAR filing support.
• Provide practical accounting guidance to business teams.
• Support acquisitions and significant transactions.
