Job summary

Motion Industries in Birmingham, AL seeks a Senior Analyst of SEC Reporting to support financial statements, SEC filings, and related analyses as the company transitions to standalone public status.

The role focuses on establishing robust financial reporting, disclosure controls, and timely, accurate filings compliant with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements, while collaborating with finance, accounting, legal, and investor relations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 2+ years of experience.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, Proxy).
• Assist with separation-related SEC filings (Form 10 and amendments).
• Assist cash flow statements and supporting schedules; reconcile to records.
• Support earnings releases, investor presentations, and disclosures.
• Maintain SEC reporting calendar and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Support responses to SEC comment letters and research as needed.
• Research accounting and regulatory developments; assess impacts.
• Assist adoption of new accounting standards and disclosures.
• Analyze financial metrics to support external disclosures.
• Assist with SOX controls documentation and evidence gathering.
• Support development of reporting policies and governance for a new public company.
• Collaborate with finance, accounting, legal, IR and cross-functional teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
