Job summary

MannKind Corporation, Burlington, MA, is seeking an Accounting Manager, SEC Reporting to lead external financial reporting activities and the monthly/quarterly close cycle. You will prepare SEC filings, footnotes, and supporting schedules while ensuring Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance under the Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting.

The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a track record in timely public-company reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required. CPA preferred or progress towards CPA.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting or reporting experience.
• Public accounting or SEC reporting experience with a publicly traded company is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Proficient in Excel and Word; ERP and SEC tools experience preferred.
• Life science/biotech experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate sections of Forms 10-K and 10-Q, including consolidated statements.
• Prepare month-end close journal entries and reconciliations.
• Assist with preparation and tie-out of quarterly earnings releases and footnotes.
• Maintain disclosure checklists, workpapers, calendars and review documentation.
• Monitor new GAAP/SEC guidance and assess implications with the Director.
• Collaborate with external auditors, Legal, FP&A and stakeholders for reporting.
• Support internal control testing and remediation of deficiencies.
• Assist with accounting policy implementation and regulatory updates.
• Support system and process enhancements for data integrity and audit readiness.
• Identify opportunities to standardize SEC workpapers and disclosure reviews.
• Provide support for special projects and nonroutine transactions.
• Act as trusted partner ensuring compliance with policies.
