Job summary

Milsco is seeking a Sr. Industrial Designer to develop innovative seating solutions for On/Off-road and specialty vehicle markets. You will balance OE customer needs, brand direction, ergonomics, and manufacturing input across concepts, prototypes, and production-ready designs.

You will collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales to drive concepts through development, validation, and launches, while mentoring others and traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design preferred; equivalent degree and directly relevant experience may be considered.
• Four+ years of industrial design experience; seating, vehicle interiors, powersports, turfcare, construction equipment, golf cars, agricultural or other durable products preferred.
• Proficiency with sketching, rendering, 3D modeling, and design presentation tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Alias, SolidWorks, Rhino, KeyShot).
• Understanding manufacturing processes for seating such as cut-and-sew upholstery, foam, molding, mechanisms, and assembly is preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead industrial design activities for new and existing seating programs across construction, turfcare, motorcycle, golf, and off-road markets.
• Interface with OE customers to understand design intent, user needs, vehicle integration, brand expectations, timelines, and program constraints.
• Translate requirements into concepts using sketches, renderings, 3D models, physical mockups, and presentations.
• Develop seating designs balancing ergonomics, comfort, durability, safety, styling, serviceability, cost, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Sales, and PM to move concepts through development, validation, quotes, and launches.
• Create and maintain product development documentation (design briefs, renderings, CAD data, structures, trim/material direction).
• Create, coordinate, and evaluate prototypes for reviews, ergonomic assessment, and manufacturing evaluation.
• Identify cost/value engineering opportunities throughout development.
• Manage design work for multiple programs, balancing priorities, deadlines, and production requirements.
• Travel domestically and to Mexico for meetings, trials, launches, or supplier support.
