Job summary

Slate in Troy, Michigan designs and releases seating systems for Slate vehicles. The role leads cost, weight, and performance improvements for Seat Complete modules, including foam, trim, structures, and integrated hardware.

You will drive APQP documentation, DFMEA, and DVP&R, coordinating with Purchasing and Vehicle Integration to meet safety and regulatory standards. Strong CATIA V5 and PLM skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in automotive Seating System engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with APQP, DFMEA, Engineering Specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of cost, weight, and functionally efficient Seat Complete systems.
• Manage APQP documentation, DFMEA, DVP&R, drawings, and control plans.
• Collaborate with Purchasing on seating components sourcing and supplier reviews.
• Lead design reviews and ensure vehicle-level performance objectives are met.
• Release seating components and interface with Vehicle Integration teams.
