Job summary

Crusoe Energy Systems is seeking a Production Engineer to maintain the performance and reliability of its AI‑optimized cloud networking. You will build automation for SDN, drive reliability initiatives, and collaborate with network engineers to deploy scalable, fault‑tolerant services for AI compute workloads.

You will optimize routing, telemetry, and kernels, while supporting containerized workloads and CNI plugins. A CS/EE degree and 5+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in PE, systems, or networking engineering.
• Demonstrated experience automating network provisioning, configuration, and remediation.
• Hands‑on experience with SDN platforms and protocols (e.g., Open vSwitch, ONOS, Tungsten Fabric, Calico, Cilium, EVPN/VXLAN).
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or C programming languages.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and deployment tooling (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet).
• Deep knowledge of Linux internals with focus on networking subsystems, kernel modules, and packet scheduling.
• Familiarity with BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS and network virtualization tech.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and CNI plugins (Calico, Cilium).
• Excellent incident response, troubleshooting, and documentation practices.
• Experience building and operating managed networking services at scale (AWS VPC, Transit Gateway, etc.).
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build automation and self‑healing tools for Crusoe Cloud SDN infrastructure.
• Improve reliability of routing, traffic engineering, policy enforcement, and fault isolation.
• Collaborate with network engineers on high‑performance virtualized networking services.
• Support userFacing networking services with availability and latency targets.
• Investigate incidents using telemetry and logs; work with hardware/kernel teams to optimize stacks.
• Contribute to scalable SDN backends for AI‑first cloud environments.
