Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer for SDN Architecture to drive the software-defined networking stack powering our AI-first cloud. You will design high-performance networking solutions across the Linux kernel, packet processing pipelines, and virtualization to support massive GPU clusters.

You will act as a senior technical contributor, shaping direction with engineering leadership, and owning substantial portions of the roadmap.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating large-scale networking systems in production, ideally in cloud or hyperscale data centers.
• Strong SDN/NFV experience with solid systems programming in C, C++, Go or Rust.
• Deep knowledge of Linux kernel, memory management, network stack, and drivers.
• Hands-on kernel bypass and high-speed packet processing experience (XDP/eBPF/AF_XDP/DPDK).
• Familiarity with SmartNICs and accelerators (NVIDIA ConnectX-6/7, BlueField-3, Intel IPUs).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to SDN execution roadmap and translate strategy into concrete plans and milestones.
• Lead architecture reviews, write design documents, and perform code reviews for critical services.
• Build and optimize Linux kernel modules and high-performance drivers.
• Design network architectures for GPU-to-GPU fabrics and AI clusters.
• Implement virtualization features and integrate advanced NICs into the stack.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform performance tuning to maximize throughput and lower latency.
• Evaluate emerging SDN/NFV technologies and contribute to open-source projects.
