Job summary

RiceFW Technologies Inc. is seeking an hands-on Quality Engineer to own UI and API automation using Playwright with TypeScript. You will expand the framework, build reusable components, and ensure test coverage for Angular applications and Java REST APIs.

The role involves CI/CD integration, debugging across UI, API, and data layers, and close collaboration with developers and product owners. Strong automation design and independent communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript for UI and API automation.
• Strong TypeScript programming fundamentals and maintainable automation design.
• Experience testing modern web apps (preferably Angular) and Java-based REST APIs.
• Solid understanding of HTTP, REST, JSON, authentication, and negative API testing.
• SQL experience for backend data validation, preferably with Oracle.
• Experience executing automated tests via Jenkins or similar CI/CD.
• Proficient with Git-based source control and collaborative workflows.
• Ability to diagnose failures across UI, API, database, test code, and environment.
• Experience with exploratory and manual testing in addition to automation.
• Strong written and verbal communication to convey defects and risks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain UI and API automated tests using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Expand the Playwright framework with reusable fixtures, API clients, and utilities.
• Create automated coverage for Angular apps and Java REST APIs.
• Integrate and execute automated tests through Jenkins.
• Investigate failures using traces, logs, network activity, and SQL.
• Validate processing and data with Oracle SQL.
• Perform exploratory, functional, integration, regression, and risk-based testing.
• Review requirements to identify gaps and edge cases.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and testers throughout story development.
• Participate in code reviews to improve automation reliability.
• Identify flaky or low-value tests and address root causes.
