Job summary

Dewpoint in Lansing, MI is seeking an hands-on SDET/QA Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automated UI and API tests using Playwright with TypeScript. You will expand the automation framework, build reusable fixtures, and ensure test coverage for Angular front-ends and Java REST APIs in a strictly on-site role.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Playwright with TypeScript for UI and API automation.
• Strong TypeScript programming fundamentals.
• Experience designing maintainable automation—not just scripts.
• Experience testing modern web apps, preferably Angular.
• Experience testing Java-based REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of HTTP, REST, JSON, auth, and validation.
• SQL experience for backend validation, preferably Oracle.
• Experience with CI/CD, Jenkins or similar.
• Experience with Git-based workflows and collaboration.
• Ability to diagnose failures across UI, API, DB, and environment.
• Exploratory and manual testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain UI and API automated tests using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Expand the existing Playwright framework and establish reusable fixtures and API clients.
• Create automated coverage for Angular applications and Java REST APIs.
• Integrate and execute automated tests through Jenkins.
• Investigate failures using traces, logs, network activity, API responses, and SQL.
• Validate processing and data with Oracle SQL; perform exploratory and functional testing.
• Review requirements for gaps, edge cases, risks, and testability.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and testers during story development.
• Participate in code reviews and improve automation reliability.
• Identify flaky or low-value tests and address root causes.
