Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Software Development in Test to automate the SDLC pipeline from testing through deployment and validation.

The role focuses on building scalable test frameworks for microservices and ensuring reliable deployments across environments. You will collaborate with platform engineering teams to investigate deployment issues, design robust test plans, and implement efficient automation using Python, Pytest, Jenkins, and SaltStack.

Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
• Strong Python and Pytest knowledge with modern testing methodologies.
• Experience debugging across environments (x86 vs ARM) and arch-specific failures.
• Knowledge of Debian packaging and QEMU's TCG vs KVM acceleration.
• Solid Linux fundamentals with Bash scripting.
• Experience with automation tools like Jenkins, Github Actions, SaltStack.
• Understanding of SDLC, testing, and service level objectives.

Responsibilities

• Investigate deployment-related issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Create and maintain test plans and cases for microservices, covering edge cases.
• Collaborate on integration testing across engineering groups and suggest improvements.
• Evaluate deployment safety requirements and verify rollback strategies.
• Write and maintain scripts to automate platform service deployments.
