Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer III for AWS IAM Identity in Austin, TX. You will own core onboarding components of the next-generation IAM Control Plane, building scalable, globally distributed backend services with high throughput and availability.

You will guide design decisions, mentor others, and contribute to the end-to-end lifecycle of critical identity services. You will collaborate across teams to deliver features, manage data replication, disaster recovery, and

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Provide a service core to all AWS services across the stack.
• Own the complete software development lifecycle: define, prioritize, design, implement, test features for Identity and Access globally distributed backend store.
• Design scalable systems with strong architectural decisions and tradeoffs.
• Operate an AWS business with globally distributed servers and customers.
• Own one of the lowest latency, highest throughput and availability services in AWS.
• Contribute to roadmap decisions and drive customer-focused solutions.
