Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle, WA seeks a skilled software engineer to lead the IAM platform's next generation.

You will drive architecture, design, and implementation of complex, multi-tenant distributed systems with a strong focus on reliability and security. You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate across teams, and champion operational excellence with telemetry, runbooks, and robust CI/CD practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Responsibilities

• Lead the team’s software development, and work with peers on related teams. Deliver systems spanning the full software lifecycle including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance strategy.
• Design and review others’ work to fit into the bigger picture and ensure it is well designed, extensible, performant, and secure.
• Mentor junior developers, recruit, and provide career guidance to team members.
• Establish operational practices with alarms, telemetry, runbooks, and retrospective.
