Job summary

BROTHERS Pro-Pave LLC in Sanford, FL is seeking a skilled Screed Operator (Screwman) to operate, adjust, and maintain the screed on the asphalt paving machine, ensuring proper depth, grade, crown, and pavement finish.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience on commercial and DOT projects, familiarity with CAT and Carlson screeds, and strong knowledge of paving electronics; CDL preferred, safety-minded, able to work extended hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience operating asphalt paver screeds on commercial and DOT projects.
• Strong understanding of grades, slopes, cross-slope control, and paving electronics.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and adjust the screed to achieve proper depth, grade, and mat consistency.
• Control slope, crown, and transverse/longitudinal joint quality.
• Make adjustments to maintain smoothness, ride quality, and uniform distribution of asphalt.
• Ensure tools, instruments, and measurement devices are maintained and stored properly at the end of each shift.
• Observe traffic and equipment movement to maintain a safe working environment.
