Job summary

Magnum Paving LLC is seeking a skilled Screed Operator to manage the screed on asphalt paving projects. You will ensure proper depth, grade, crown, and mat consistency while coordinating with the Paver Operator and crew to maintain production quality.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience with asphalt paver screeds, knowledge of CAT/Carlson systems, and the ability to read plans and grade sheets. Expect to work on commercial DOT projects with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience operating asphalt paver screeds on commercial and DOT paving projects.
• Experience with CAT and Carlson screeds; ability to adapt to other makes as needed.
• Strong understanding of grades, slopes, cross-slope control, and paving electronics.
• Knowledge of grade control systems (Moba/Topcon/Leica) preferred.
• Able to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and grade sheets.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and adjust the screed to achieve proper depth, grade, and mat consistency.
• Control slope, crown, and joint quality.
• Make adjustments to maintain smoothness and uniform distribution of asphalt.
• Communicate with the Paver Operator and crew to ensure production.
• Ensure safety procedures and DOT specifications are met.
